Here you will find the art of Melanie Samora, a self taught and highly prolific artist. She has achieved mastery of skillset through tireless thousands of hours immersed in her work. She presents it to you as a cabinet of curiosities, like crowded antique store shelves filled with punk rock, gothic, pop art threaded loosely together with poetic gritty narratives.  Miss Samora creates art by bringing into reality things she can see clearly in her mind and feels a compulsive need to illuminate. She uses a wide variety of mediums to pull you into her world.

     Most of the work here is the result of Melanie examining the workings of her mind and exposing them to herself and in turn, the world. She summons dark, funny, ironic, images and words from her life, both past and present, and invites the viewer into some very raw and real situations.  Sometimes she is vanquishing her demons, sometimes exploring her history, and always creating connected pathways between events and people. All the work is part of an overarching narrative. There is always a story behind the art, and every piece is a direct relative of every other.
